
Wouter Raemdonck
Former SVP Oil Sands Projects and recently Special Advisor to the President & CEO, Total E&P
Raemdonck graduated from Chemical Engineering (University of Leuven 1969), Economics (University of Antwerp 1972), Middle Management (Vlerick management School 1975-76), Social Law / Labour Law (1987) and Harvard Business School (International Senior Management Program 1994).
With 41 years of experience in the Oil Industry, he led groups in R&D, Process Engineering (SIBP Refinery; Joint Venture BP-Petrofina), Production, Human Resources, Corporate Planning & Strategy, and Marketing.
Before transferring to Canada he acted as the General Manager at the Angola Refinery and the Port Arthur Refinery for Total, where he spent five years at each location. Each of these sites endured important events during his stay, including strikes, hurricanes and major expansions / transformational efforts which he led successfully. He also completed several foreign assignments all over the world.
Before retiring, Wouter transferred to Canada as Vice President, Upgrading for Total's first Upgrading Project and he was then was appointed as Senior Vice President, Oil Sands Projects, Total Canada. He currently advises the President & CEO, Total Canada on special projects.
